Just one and a half hours from the centre of Melbourne, at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, a trip to the replica of the original Noojee railway station, with its 1950s J class locomotive, is a must for all history buffs, railway enthusiasts, visitors to the Baw Baw region and local residents.
The rebuilt station building now houses the Noojee Heritage Centre, with fascinating storylines, engaging displays and an enthusiastic band of volunteers who are alway ready to help you discover and interpret the past.
The Centre brings to life the region’s timber and railway past, providing an insight into the lives and culture of those who lived in the area in times gone by.
After visiting the Noojee Heritage Centre, you should make time to take a leisurely stroll and see what our little township has to offer, or extend your visit to the area by exploring other local attractions.
