After 1919, Noojee began to flourish and established itself as a logging powerhouse.
A local company, Noojee Logging, initiated the timber industry with support from several
other local timber businesses.
The development of over 300 small mills in the forests surrounding Noojee ensured a
steady supply of timber to the main mill located just outside the town center.
The railway line provided Noojee with a means to export its timber, not only to Melbourne
using a Baldwin-built V521 locomotive starting in 1920, but also to a significant portion
that was shipped to England.
Small locomotives, like a Baldwin 0-4-0 tramway loco, were employed to transport timber
from the small mills to the main mill, where it was then reloaded onto larger trains for
transport to Melbourne.
