The Noojee & District Historical Society gratefully recognises the support of the following organisations and individuals, without whom the construction of the heritage centre would not have been possible.  Those mentioned below have made significant financial or in-kind donations towards the Heritage Centre Project and have enabled us to create the facility that members of the public and local community enjoy today.  Many thanks to you all for your confidence in us to deliver the project.

Major Funding Partner

Victorian Government

Member for Narracan Gary Blackwood announced on behalf of Deputy Premier and Regional Development Minister Peter Ryan Coalition Government funding of $221,175 to complete the first stage of the Noojee Heritage Centre.

Mr Blackwood said stage one of the Noojee Heritage Centre Project would include the construction of a replica of the original Noojee Railway Station building for use as a heritage centre.

Funding Partners

Neerim District Community Bank

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has long considered sponsorship to be an important part of our continued support of Australian communities.

We consider sponsorship from the national level through to the branch level as this ensures that we remain committed to the communities in which we serve and partner with organisations that are important to our business.

Regional Development Victoria

Right across rural and regional Victoria, our tiny towns are great places to live and visit.

The Tiny Towns Fund supports local communities to deliver quality tourism and community facility projects, such as splash parks and bike trails, playgrounds, community hall and library upgrades, public art and more.

Towns with populations of up to 5,000 people in the 48 local government areas of regional Victoria are eligible to apply, as well as Alpine Resorts and towns in Melbourne’s 10 interface outer metropolitan local government areas.

Baw Baw Shire Council

The Baw Baw region of Victoria is a hidden inland gem. At just over an hour’s drive east of Melbourne, Baw Baw is the perfect place to bring the family for a day trip or a romantic weekend away.

Explore a region of diversity and beauty where there is something for everyone and for every budget. From the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau to the rich gold mining history of Walhalla and the lush valleys, flowing streams and rivers, gourmet food and wine and boutique shops, Baw Baw is a feast for the senses which will have you coming back again and again.

In 2019, the Victorian Government announced the Forestry Transition Plan to support workers, businesses, and the community in transitioning away from native timber harvesting. Noojee was one of eleven towns that received a grant under the Plan to help support the community and develop the local economy through a Local Development Strategy. The grant provides an opportunity for the Noojee community to identify local strengths and explore opportunities for innovation and diversification to ensure a thriving community and successful future. Shaping the future of Noojee.
